Our Sentry Hill Visit

16th Jun 2019

We visited Sentry Hill House for our P3 trip this year.  We set off on the bus and arrived after a short journey and were really pleased we had NO rain!  We were met by Deirdre and Wesley who were our tour guides and they were great fun and taught us many new things.

We all enjoyed looking around the old house at all the old artefacts, many from the far corners of the world. The house is over 100 years old and has so much history. We learned about the family who lived there and people who worked there.  It was very interesting and we asked a lot of questions.

Also we found out what school would have been like about 100 years ago.  The lessons were hard and the teachers were very strict!  We all much preferred school today.  We also enjoyed trying on costumes boys and girls would have worn in the past though we much preferred our uniforms and shoes!

Looking at games, flick books and toys from the past was very interesting and we enjoyed spending pocket money on old fashioned toys and look forward to playing with them.  Another great part of the day was having a huge garden with lots of hills and hollows to hide and chase each other around in and even better when the rain stayed off!

What a great day with lots of fun memories!  Thank you Sentry Hill!
